CHASKi Running Validation Study: Preliminary Results

We recently conducted a preliminary study to further validate CHASKi’s technology against the gold standard on the treadmill. Similar to our cycling validation study, we are comparing CHASKi’s evaluation of ventilatory thresholds and respiratory frequency with ergospirometry. This study involved 14 volunteers of varying ages and sports disciplines. Our preliminary results show high agreement between CHASKi data and ergospirometry.

Our respiratory rate algorithms differ from the Gold Standard by 1.5 breaths per minute

For this preliminary study, participants conducted maximum incremental tests on the treadmill while wearing an ergospirometry mask and CHASKi simultaneously. CHASKi’s small, lightweight, and non-invasive form factor fits easily underneath the mask.

Our initial results show remarkably high agreement between the CHASKi device and ergospirometry. The comparison of the respiratory rate signals obtained with CHASKi and ergospirometer, are practically identical.

We are in the process of conducting an even larger treadmill validation study to ensure CHASKi continues to deliver accurate data to users. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to refine our technology to support your training and performance goals in your sports discipline.

Keep pushing your limits and stay tuned for more exciting developments from CHASKi.
